![]() ![]() It sure was! Diehard Marvel fans were probably not surprised to find out that Agnes turned out to in fact be comic book villain Agatha Harkness. Who is Agatha, and was it really her all along? Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness in WandaVision Marvel Studios Add Tommy and Billy, and you have a full team of teen supers. Marvel) and Riri Williams ( Ironheart) revealed that Hailee Steinfeld will play Kate Bishop, Hawkeye’s protege in the new Hawkeye series and teased that another teen hero America Chavez will appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marvel has announced TV shows based on teen characters Kamala Khan ( Ms. We’ve already met Ant-Man’s daughter Cassie Lang, who mentions in Ant-Man and the Wasp that she would like to be her dad’s partner in crimefighting. The MCU does seem to be slowly introducing the pieces for a Young Avengers team. Billy, who inherited his mother’s vague reality-warping powers, has gone by Wiccann. Tommy, who goes by Speed, shares his speedster powers with his uncle, Pietro. They even become members of the Young Avengers superhero team. The devil rescinds on their agreement and makes them disappear for awhile, but then they reappear in the stories as teenagers. Wanda unwittingly made a deal with the devil, named Mephisto in the Marvel comics, to have them. Wanda and Vision’s kids experience something similar in the comics. There’s still hope they’ll show up in the movies though. They discuss the age-old puzzle of Theseus’ ship and conclude that the thing that makes any being who looks like Vision actually Vision is the memories that Vision has within him. But while Wanda was fighting Agatha (Kathryn Hahn), White Vision has a philosophical debate with Hex Vision. Acting SWORD director Hayward (Josh Stamberg) created White Vision as a super-weapon and instructs him to destroy the Hex version of Vision. However, there is hope that Vision will live on. When Wanda destroys the Hex she destroys Vision with it. I wouldn’t take that literally-I think she basically temporarily gifted him some of the power she had gotten from the Infinity Stone herself. In the final episode, we find out that the Vision that Wanda created in her dreamland was made from the part of the Mind Stone that still lives inside Wanda. Wanda was exposed to it when she was being experimented upon by HYDRA, and Vision had it living literally inside his head. Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) were always emotionally connected because they were both entangled with an Infinity Stone called the Mind Stone. Is Vision dead or alive? Paul Bettany as Vision in WandaVision Marvel Studiosīoth! Sort of. Still, there are plenty of lingering questions, like is Monica Rambeau a superhero now and what happened to White Vision or Wanda’s kids? A close examination of the episodes, the Marvel comic books and Marvel Studios’ future film plans can offer us some answers as to what, exactly, happened in this mind-bending show. And she said goodbye to her one true love, Vision-for now. She realized she had to destroy the Hex and free the townspeople of Westview. Wanda assumed the mantle of Scarlet Witch for the first time and grew even more powerful than before. The finale offered a conclusion to Wanda’s tale of grief and reconciliation. WandaVision was the MCU’s first, official canonical TV series and released week-by-week over the course of nine episodes, leaving viewers plenty of time to wonder whether the X-Men might show up in Wanda’s Hex or whether Wanda was the hero or villain of the show. But because each movie contains a single story, there’s little time to theorize about concrete plot points as the film rolls along. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) generates plenty of fan theories. WandaVision was a grand experiment in fan theorizing.

![]() ![]() Again in case you passed it, here’s the link to request building plans to build your own 2×4 Outdoor Table. Thanks for sticking with me on this very long post. I’m beyond thrilled with my new 2×4 tables, my patio is already brighter and more cheery. making them a forever fixture in your outdoor space. They’re stylish and sturdy, and in a pinch they can even be used as extra seating. Unlike wood, POLYWOOD products are innovatively engineered to withstand all four. I hope you love these tables as much as I do. They’re ready to hold a refreshing beverage while I enjoy the shade of our new gazebo. Buying a wood table would cost much much more. That’s less than $15 per table and with the cost of paint it’s around $20 per table. So how much did these tables cost? I bought kiln dried 2x4s for my 2×4 Tables that cost about $3.29 each. I walked into the hardware store and literally chose the first paint chip I picked up. I put it to a vote on Instagram and on Facebook and Teal won. Last Summer I did a Patio Refresh Series but it still wasn’t bright enough for me with all the brown on the fence and on our rust-colored patio furniture. I decided to paint mine a fun color for my patio. This is a cheater way if you don’t have a compounding miter saw that can make a bevel cut. To cut the bevels for the legs I actually used the miter angle I’d already set by standing the 2×4 on end. Sometimes I really have to think about it before I make my cut to ensure the angle is correct. ![]() When cutting the Cross Leg Supports make sure the top is narrower than the bottom.Pay close attention to the bevel and miter cuts as noted.** This website will better describe a Miter versus a Bevel. If you choose not to trim your 2x4s increase the length of the six (6) top boards to 21” to ensure your table top is square. * For my table I trimmed 1/8” off each short side of the 2×4’s for a more squared look. The new research, from lead author Michaja Pehl and colleagues, comprehensively measures the lifecycle energy use and greenhouse gas emissions of different sources of electricity, between now and 2050. What’s more, the indirect energy uses and emissions of each technology will shift over time, due to changing fuel sources, advances in manufacturing and the evolution of global electricity supplies. These lifecycle emissions continue, even if coal or gas plants add CCS, which also may not capture 100% of emissions at the power plant. Significantly, they also come from methane leaks at pipelines, well heads or coal mines. Yet zero-carbon sources of electricity are not the only ones to have a hidden, indirect carbon and energy footprint.įor coal and gas, these lifecycle energy uses and emissions come from extraction machinery and fuel transport. And the centrifuges that separate nuclear fuel also rack up a big electricity bill. Wind turbines and nuclear plants need a lot of steel and concrete. This large “ carbon debt”, and the related debt of energy, must be paid off if they are to cut emissions over their lifetime.įactories churning out solar panels use large amounts of electricity, often sourced from coal-fired power stations in China. Luderer tells Carbon Brief: “The most important finding was that the expansion of wind and solar power…comes with life-cycle emissions that are much smaller than the remaining emissions from existing fossil power plants, before they can finally be decommissioned.” Carbon debtĬritics sometimes argue that nuclear, wind or solar power have a hidden carbon footprint, due to their manufacture and construction. “There was a concern that it is a lot harder than suggested by energy scenario models to achieve climate targets, because of the energy required to produce wind turbines and solar panels and associated emissions,” explains project leader Dr Gunnar Luderer, who is an energy system analyst at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impacts Research (PIK). This remains true after accounting for emissions during manufacture, construction and fuel supply. It shows that the carbon footprint of solar, wind and nuclear power are many times lower than coal or gas with carbon capture and storage (CCS). The research, published in Nature Energy, measures the full lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions of a range of sources of electricity out to 2050. In most countries, before Covid-19, less than half of people reported flying at least once a year while more than half of emissions from passenger aviation were linked to the 1% of people who fly most often.Building solar, wind or nuclear plants creates an insignificant carbon footprint compared with savings from avoiding fossil fuels, a new study suggests. ![]() “Unlike the less wealthy, the thermostat won’t be turned down and the idea of not jetting off on a long-haul flight to find some sun is out of the question. “It is much easier for richer consumers to absorb these increases in costs without changing their behaviour,” said Ambrose. However, those who consume the most are unlikely to have to make such changes. ![]() They also own and use more luxury items and gadgets.Īmbrose said the cost of living crisis was likely to make those on middle to low incomes reduce their carbon consumption by holidaying in the UK, if at all, and by using less fuel. While their homes may be more energy-efficient, high consumers are likely to have more space to heat. In terms of energy demand in the UK, the least wealthy half of the population accounts for less than 20% of final demand, less than the top 5% consumes. ![]() Aimee Ambrose, a professor of energy policy at Sheffield Hallam University and author of the study published in the journal Science Direct, says cutting the carbon footprint of the wealthiest might be the fastest way to reach net zero. ![]() ![]() Speak to a Course Advisor for full information on the options available to you. Just doesn't seem like it'd be for me.Ī quick read on Obsidian's landing page mentioned "connections", and that concept seems very interesting to me. Like you already have an idea about what the hierarchy is going to look like for all of the information. and while it's got a lot of cool bells and whistles, it seems to favor an approach where you already have an idea for how you want to group your documents. If there was a particular concept I know I previously wrote about, and I want to see all journal entries related to it, then it takes a lot of digging. I tend to write a lot of daily notes (for both work and personal stuff) that can be random and quickly changing in topic, very stream of consciousness.Ĭurrently I just store them as journal entries in a giant Google Doc, which is obviously pretty cumbersome when I want to read through something at a later time. How do you think Obsidian would do for a more stream of consciousness writing style? There are a gazillion more tools, and as others have mentioned, you first need to identify your requirements for such a tool, then try a few, see which one you prefer, and stick with one for long enough to really appreciate how it works for you.īTW if you want to explore this further, I've published my research as an infoproduct on Gumroad: I'm seriously thinking of moving more of my writing to LogSeq at the moment. Of course it also requires some level of organization, but you can surface streams ot thought by tagging and linking bullet points all around the place. One important benefit of outliners is that there's absolutely no need to organize content in folders and fiddle with files and renaming stuff you just continually edit your "infinite" outline. Interestingly, DynaList has been created by the same Indie Hackers behind Obsidian. You can also "zoom" into a bullet point as if it was a document, and then you only see what's inside, meaning that you can actually store A TON of information. LogSeq / DynaList: Those are infinite outliners, which is a different style for note-taking.I love using it as a tool to think, reflect and explore ideas. You can also edit multiple documents at once, which is super useful. Obsidian has very good support for linking ideas, tagging and searching. You can publish your content to create a so-called "Digital Garden" basically exporting your notes as a static Website you can host anywhere. You can tweak it in lots of ways (not as many as emacs, but still □).There's a huge & friendly community around.Everything is stored locally in a single folder (Markdown files) that you can easily synchronize (e.g., using Google Drive, OneDrive etc) across devices.Obsidian: I currently use it for most of my knowledge management.I would not recommend Notion for personal knowledge management (assuming you write a lot and want to benefit from your writing in some way vs just keeping a journal from time to time). The versatility of the blocks is mind blowing you can do a ton of different things with Notion thanks to those. ![]() Notion: I use it as a place to store information about my projects, my home, my family, my processes, to maintain databases of different kinds (eg personal CRM).I've spent a good chunk of 2021 researching the note-taking and Personal Knowledge Management space for my project. ![]() But it's more about novelty than convenience, so I won't go into more depth about it. If I'm away from my computer and I want to take notes, I'll pop Dynalist open on my smartphone (it's right there in the dock for easy access) and dash off a few of the key points in my head.īonus: I also occasionally take notes on a ReMarkable e-ink tablet late at night when I want to avoid screens. In short, if I'm already at my computer working and I want to take notes, I'll do so in Notion. (If you're familiar with Workflowy, Dynalist is basically the same thing but with a few more features.) ![]() So I supplement Notion with a second app: Dynalist. And sometimes I need to be able to just jot a thought down quickly while cooking food or walking outside. However, Notion is slow af and has a recent history of crashing entirely. I'm a huge fan of Notion, and I take most of my notes there so that my notes can "live" in the same app that I also do the rest of my work - including scheduling tasks, tracking progress, managing my CRM, and more. ![]() These are all complex underground structures, and this appears to have been the standard Classical understanding of the word.īeekes also finds the relation with labrys speculative, and suggests instead a relation with Greek λαύρα ('narrow street'). Pliny's Natural History gives four examples of ancient labyrinths: the Cretan labyrinth, an Egyptian labyrinth, a Lemnian labyrinth, and an Italian labyrinth. Caverns near Gortyna, the Cretan capital in the 1st century AD, were called labyrinthos. This may be related to the Minoan word du-pu₂-re, which appears in Linear A on libation tablets and in connection with Mts Dikte and Ida, both of which are associated with caverns. The association with "labrys" lost some traction when Linear B was deciphered in the 1950s, and an apparent Mycenaean Greek rendering of "labyrinth" appeared as da-pu₂-ri-to ( □□□□). Nilsson observed that in Crete the double axe is not a weapon and always accompanies goddesses or women and not a male god. ![]() The same symbol, however, was discovered in other palaces in Crete. ![]() Arthur Evans, who excavated the Minoan palace of Knossos in Crete early in the 20th century, suggested that ruins inspired the story of the labyrinth, and since the double axe motif appears in the palace ruins, he asserted that labyrinth could be understood to mean "the house of the double axe". Maximillian Mayer suggested as early as 1892 that labyrinthos might derive from labrys, a Lydian word for "double-bladed axe". Labyrinth is a word of pre-Greek origin whose derivation and meaning are uncertain. Unicursal patterns have been used historically both in group ritual and for private meditation, and are increasingly found for therapeutic use in hospitals and hospices. Many labyrinths set in floors or on the ground are large enough that the path can be walked. The Romans created many primarily decorative unicursal designs on walls and floors in tile or mosaic. Unicursal labyrinths appeared as designs on pottery or basketry, as body art, and in etchings on walls of caves or churches. A labyrinth in this sense has an unambiguous route to the center and back and presents no navigational challenge. In this specialized usage maze refers to a complex branching multicursal puzzle with choices of path and direction, while a unicursal labyrinth has only a single path to the center. As a result of the long history of unicursal representation of the mythological Labyrinth, however, many contemporary scholars and enthusiasts observe a distinction between the two. In English, the term labyrinth is generally synonymous with maze. Branching mazes were reintroduced only when hedge mazes became popular during the Renaissance. Even as the designs became more elaborate, visual depictions of the mythological Labyrinth from Roman times until the Renaissance are almost invariably unicursal. Īlthough early Cretan coins occasionally exhibit branching (multicursal) patterns, the single-path (unicursal) seven-course "Classical" design without branching or dead ends became associated with the Labyrinth on coins as early as 430 BC, and similar non-branching patterns became widely used as visual representations of the Labyrinth – even though both logic and literary descriptions make it clear that the Minotaur was trapped in a complex branching maze. Daedalus had so cunningly made the Labyrinth that he could barely escape it after he built it. Its function was to hold the Minotaur, the monster eventually killed by the hero Theseus. In Greek mythology, the Labyrinth ( Ancient Greek: Λαβύρινθος, romanized: Labúrinthos) was an elaborate, confusing structure designed and built by the legendary artificer Daedalus for King Minos of Crete at the Knossos. Silver coin from Knossos displaying the 7-course "Classical" design to represent the Labyrinth, 400 BC Without proper rendering support, you may see question marks, boxes, or other symbols. Powerful themes of fatalism vs. The undisputed power of this film is carried by its mystery. He also adds some great comedic moments, although most of the film's comic relief is handled by the excellent Adam Goldberg (remember Chandler's psycho roommate for 3 episodes of "Friends"?) who plays the fast talking, sarcastic, pop-culture-quoting computer nerd "Denny" who throws out zingers referencing everything from "Saturday Night Live" to "Airplane!" Now back to director Tony Scott and his suicide (you thought I had forgotten). He reprises his signature action role of a loner who's somewhat cynical but not above showing tremendous humanity and compassion in addition to explosive outbursts. A quick word about the acting, even though it should be obvious with Denzel Washington: fantastic. Even if you hadn't read the IMDb description (which I always advise people not to!) and even if I hadn't told you that there's a tragedy in the first 5 minutes, you can feel something is going to happen because that's what Tony Scott conveys to us from the 1st frame. That doesn't mean that there are continuous car chases and shootouts, but what I mean is that there's a thick air of tension that Tony Scott achieves even during quiet moments because there is always a sense of impending peril. The action doesn't let up for a single moment. Nobody wants to spend 15 minutes talking about flux capacitors and stuff when people are about to get killed. That's about all we get as far as explanations which I think is good. Rather, we are presented the somewhat credible idea of being able to observe the past in real-time, similar to the way our telescopes allow us to observe the past of stars unfolding in real-time even though they have burned out billions of years ago. It's not just Marty McFly flooring a suped up Delorean and cruising into the past. Or in other words: "sh!t gets real." Here in Déjà Vu, we get the same sober treatment of "time travel" movies. It brought a degree of sobriety and realism to a genre dominated by fantasy and cheesy special effects. Although best known for the more mainstream "Top Gun", "Days of Thunder" and "Beverly Hills Cop II", he first turned heads with his phenomenal debut "The Hunger", which was to vampire flicks what Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" was to scifi flicks. Tony Scott, younger brother of Ridley Scott ("Alien", "Blade Runner", "Prometheus"), was just as stylish and atmospheric with his films. First let's go back in time, as this movie does (speaking of which, here's all you need to know about Déjà Vu's plot in 1 sentence: the movie opens with a tragedy in the first 5 minutes, and the remaining 121 minutes take our hero on a wild ride to unravel the truth and possibly. Tony Scott committed suicide by jumping off a bridge in 2012. Then I noticed who directed this film: the late, great Tony Scott. ![]() Not that there's anything wrong with that, they can't all be "Agent PW" (Peewee Herman), but with the oversaturation of such action flicks it's easy to let one slip past you. ![]() First glance of Déjà Vu's DVD cover presents what appears to be another action flick with a bunch of good looking people looking too cool for school. While the various dales shared a similar culture, alike lifestyles and aligned relationships with nearby powers, they were not a unified nation like nearby Cormyr and Sembia. The mountains received their names from the year-round thunderstorms that would close Tilver's Gap and Thunder Gap with snow during the winter. The first is 2:1 AFL AV conduction at ventricular rates in the 130-140 bpm range. However, there are brief periods of fixed ratio conduction, as shown in the following near-field ECG examples. These R-R plots suggest variable AV conduction ratios of AFL. Episodic ratios of AFL occurred at 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and also included variable AV conduction. This patient had a 12-day, 8-hour study with 100% typical AFL throughout the recording. AFL can have fixed atrial-to-ventricular conduction ratios of 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 or, as often occurs, variable AV conduction superficially mimicking AF, albeit with much less randomness than true AF. Atrial rates typically range between 220-320 bpm. AFL, when regular in its ventricular response, will manifest fractions of its atrial cycle length. Typical AFL can be described as having a “sawtooth” appearance from an aVF ECG vector used with the Carnation monitor. AFL can manifest with either a regular or irregular ventricular response depending upon AV node conduction. The tendon of Todaro, the crista terminalis, the inferior vena cava, the tricuspid valve annulus, and the coronary sinus os provide anatomical landmarks of the circuit. Typical Atrial Flutter (AFL) is the most common type of atrial flutter and is a macro-reentrant right atrial tachycardia that uses the cavo-tricuspid isthmus as an essential part of a counter-clockwise circuit. ![]() To download the app, simply head over to the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store and search for “OwnersBox.” You can create your OwnersBox account on the OwnersBox website or by downloading the OwnersBox app.As always, you want to make sure you’re taking advantage of the best promo codes available.
